Race Day Pit Crew:
 

Dave Brightman, Mike’s dad is the crew chief. Dave started racing at Seekonk Speedway in 1985 in the street stockcar division and won the formula four division championship in 1997. Dave won 12 feature races during his racing career. Dave has been Mike’s crew chief since Mike started his racing career in 1994 and has the responsibility of coordinating the race day duties of the pit crew. Dave is the owner of Brightman & Sons Auto/Truck of Acushnet, MA. Dave and his wife Ruth live in Acushnet.

Butch Jarvis has been a member of Mike’s pit crews for seven years. Butch is experienced in several areas of automotive motor repair. The #27 race cars are maintained and stored at Butch’s garage. Butch is employed by the Titlist Co. in general maintenance and fabrication and is the manager of the Long Plain Cranberry Co. of Acushnet, MA, and lives in Acushnet with his wife Janet and daughter Melanie.

Fred Borges has been on the pit crew for five years. He has expertise in fabrication and welding and volunteers as one of the BGB Racing LLC race car haulers. Fred has the responsibility of coordinating the tire inventory and stagger set up and camber. Fred is employed by the Titleist Co. Fred and his wife Tammy enjoys going camping with their children Fred and Tim. Fred drives a hot Porsche.

Malcolm Lopes has been on the pit crew of Mike’s for five years. Malcolm has mechanical and auto body experience. He is a retired police and corrections officer and is employed by Impact Collision Parts Inc. Malcolm enjoys riding his motorcycle in the country with his wife Diane, Mike’s main cheerleader.

Preparation Crew:

Milt “Papa” Brightman Milt is Mike’s grandfather is a special advisor and the patriarch of the Brightman racing family. Milt brings extensive knowledge of racing tactics and mechanics to the B & B Racing team. Milt and his lovely wife Rose help with the final preparation on race day. They have been active for five decades in motor sports at the Seekonk Speedway. They reside in New Bedford, MA.

Josh Gower is Mike’s brother and has been part of the prep crews since the start of Mike’s racing career. Josh specializes in chassis repair and body work. Josh is an experienced race car driver and has raced in the pure street stock division. Josh is employed as the shop foreman at DATTCO bus lines. He is married to Amanda Tetrault and they reside in New Bedford, MA.

Nick Brightman is Mike’s brother and has also been a member of the pit crews since Mike began racing. Nick has four years of competitive racing under his belt at Seekonk Speedway. Nick helps with body work, set up and painting. Nick works with his dad Dave and two children, CJ and Nick Jr.

Steve Tessier has been on Mike’s crews for six years and was Mike’s first race car hauler. He helps to repair collision damage on the race car during the week and at the track on race day when needed. Steve is a drywall subcontractor and when not working enjoys riding his Harley Davidson by Beuhle.

Gil Rapoza has been helping out Mike on his pit crews for six years. He is one of our haulers of the BGB Racing LLC race cars and assists wherever needed. He often helps the pit crew during the week and works with Mike on the buying of the race tires. Gil has three sons and they all enjoy NASCAR. Gil, a retired oil delivery truck driver is a skilled dancer, enjoys going on car cruises in his antique car collection.

Dave Berghman, driver, builder and is the race day set up technician. Dave is the owner of DB Fabrication of Seekonk, MA. Dave has a solid reputation as one of the best chassis and race car builders on the east coast. Dave is a champion caliber race car driver with over twenty years of competitive racing experience. Dave was the pro stockcar champion at Thompson Speedway in 2003 and 2004. In 2005 he was a NASCAR pro stockcar sectional champion. Dave and his wife Robbin live in East Providence, RI.
